Canadian Tuxedo with a twist: a quick style post on yesterday’s outfit at World MasterCard Fashion Week.
I have always been a fan of Denim on Denim and one of the “sartorial” things that I promised myself this year is to not only define my personal style but also add a bit of individual attitude to it. Think monochrome outfits with a splash, or two, of colour. This floral, neoprene coat that I was lucky to find – it was like finding a diamond in a world of charcoal – promised so many days of joy since the moment we laid eyes on each other; and yes, my clothes and I speak on occasion. I’ve been meaning to bring it out into Toronto but minus degree temperatures just wouldn’t allow it. However, for the sake of Fashion Week – frozen toes, back pain and ovary inflammation aside – I decided to finally show it off with a pair of just-as-colourful heels.
Two collared shirts, denim on denim and a flashy clutch later, I set out to conquer the cold city streets in hope of avoiding encounters with leftover, curbside snow banks. Somehow, it all worked out.
